I have decided that our tiler either is an alcoholic or has a serious drug problem.

Why?

Well, before we went away, we gave him $2000 to buy supplies. And nothing was seen of him for 3 days.

Then, on Tuesday, we gave him another $2000 progress payment. He was to come back on Wednesday to finish the grouting and be done with the job.

He did not show up.

I just rang him and he said he won’t be in until at least Saturday (car problems?).

My theory?

Bender.

Massive bender.

With our money.

We need to pay the balance of the cost of the job when he comes out, but I wonder whether we should hold the $$ to pay for the shower screen ourselves. Because although my bender theory is unlikely, it is possible.
