Today’s morning activity: omgBSW.
Today’s holiday activity: A trip to Sovereign Hill – where the school holiday program is, once again, All. About. Snow.
The Bigster and I went on our own last year, but this year we decided to make it a whole family outing. Not sure that was the best plan ever – Otto didn’t wake till after 10, and Fraser till we dragged him out of bed at 10.45, so we didn’t get up there until just after the 1pm snowfall.
Proving the theory that you should never do ANYTHING on a Sunday, especially in school holidays, the place was completely packed. There were huge queues at all the cafes, and most of the activities were impossible to get into. Not the most successful family outing ever – although the girls both had a great time, dipping colourful candles and seeing the “snowfall” on main street. The Bigster went down the ice slide, and then both girls found some piles of grotty slushy snow and spent a few happy minutes throwing snowballs at yours truly.
We were home by 5pm.

Snow? In Australia? How is this possible? Is it imported?

Artificial. And the stuff on Main Street was soap bubbles or something.
But the kids loved it.

Rats. I should have saved some from our last fall at Easter. I could have brought it to you in October for you to carry around the world with you.
Silly me.
