Dusting out the cobwebs

29 Jul

What a day.

Up most of the night trying to meet a deadline (missed it – will catch up tonight), so I got up and dressed the kids this morning before Fraser took them to before-school care and I retired to bed with my computer. Caught up on things and enjoyed some BSW time before a nap, then got up and started to attack the chaos. My fabulous Organiser arrived not long after and we did the living room together.

Now when I say “did” I am quite aware that it has a naughty connotation as well. And given the amount of change we caused, I would say that the very naughtiest connotation you can put on the word “did” is probably accurate. My living room has been turned inside out and upside down, and is – wow. I can invite people over again – or I will be able to, soon. We threw out SO MUCH STUFF – lots of old toys to charity, others to the bin. Well, to bin liners on the front porch. Ten of them, I think, and that doesn’t count the stuff that went to charity or into a box for my niece.

There’s still some tidying – mostly books and DVDs to be put away, and boxes of toys to go into the toy cupboard (this means clearing out the toy cupboard a bit, I think). But for the most part, it is done.

Which means that the sofa I bought the December before I turned 18 might finally be retiring. Uncluttering the living room has been the requirement for replacing it, and now it has been achieved.

Next session isn’t for a month – sigh – I asked her to call me if she gets any cancellations.

So there we go. Melissa’s Day of WOW.
