We are now a 4-iPod house.
The main one, Fraser and I bought together, when we first dipped our toes into the world of iPod. It is called iTinkerbell.
Then I got sick of carrying iTink, and bought a little (first generation) Nano to carry. And it is called, simply, iLissa.
So today I picked up an iPod Touch (gift! OMG! *smoochies*) and a very pink Nano, to round us up to four. They are called, quote appropriately, iTouchLissa (blush) and iPinkThereforeiAm
I have NEVER been one to name cars. So it surprises me how much joy I get in finding the very perfectest name for these items.
Also? OMG you can play LEMONADE TYCOON on iTouchLissa. I am sure there are many other wonderful apps, but I am enjoying remembering just how banananas it drove me.

OK
I now have 2 iPod devices: my first, a first generation Nano, which strangely has no name. Unless you consider “OMGINEEDMOREROOM!!” a name. The newest addition is my 2nd generation iTouch, dubbed Beulah to fit in with the rest of my named Things:
Beulah: the new (crack) friend iTouch
Bessy: my car (aka The Bitchin’ Meatcar)*
Betty: my computer. Lovingly named after my drunken alter ego
Beryl: my external CD/DVD drive. Also my 4th & 5th grade teacher 🙂
Bertha: Gil’s computer
Frankenputer: my laptop, which for the longest while was in a coma after a fall and had to be hooked up to an alternate monitor and external CD/DVD drive in order to function. You’ll be pleased to know that he is on the road to recovery but will never be able to drive w/out Beryl.
So, it seems I need to fix that little problem about my Nano. Always lookin for old fashioned names starting with the letter B
Happy May!

Mine is gecko. My laptop is possum. The old linux server was hogwarts, the current desktop is Camelot. Tintagel was an external hard disk, but it died. The old laptop was penny, the old pda h’apenny. Anything that can connect to a network needs a name– that’s my excuse.

Yeah – once you do networking you do need to name things. Which is mostly fun but I don’t like feeling like my appliances are putting me on the spot! Lucky I don’t have an internet fridge: I would still be working on permutations of Frosty the Snowman!
